When Max Engle, a teenage player from Jersey Shore High School, passed out during a game versus Selinsgrove, Friday night lights, typically filled with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and the joy of high school football, took a sombre turn. A close-knit community is in shock and mourning after this horrific tragedy, which occurred with just 11.4 seconds left on the clock and the score knotted at 21. Not only has Max’s struggle to recover from a devastating brain injury brought his school and teammates together, but also the larger Pennsylvania community, which is supporting him and his family through this difficult time.
