Tiziana Polizio, affectionately known as Tiz, Iggs, Anna Banana, and Tizzy P, succumbed to her valiant battle with cancer. Born in Hanover to Maria Antonietta (Guarracino) Polizio and Luigi Polizio, Tiziana’s life journey began amidst the picturesque landscapes of her hometown. She cherished her roles as the beloved sister of Sandra Polizio and Gaetano Polizio, forming deep bonds with her family that would shape her entire existence. Tiziana was not just a wonderful aunt, or “Zia,” to Luigi, Lucien, Serafina, Sarah, and numerous other members of her expansive family; she was also a cherished friend and auntie to many, forever leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

Tiziana Polizio stood as a formidable figure in her professional domain. At the time of her passing, she held the esteemed position of Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), where she dedicated over 12 years of her career. Prior to her tenure at BBH, Tiz had spent nearly two decades at State Street Bank & Trust Co., where her expertise and unwavering commitment shone brightly. Her academic journey led her through Boston College and Suffolk University Law School, paving the way for a stellar career in the financial industry.

Yet, Tiz’s legacy transcends the realm of professional achievements. She was a fervent advocate for her community, displaying a deep-seated love for Hanover, Massachusetts, and its residents. Tiz’s philanthropic spirit manifested through her involvement with numerous organizations, including the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, The Home for Little Wanderers, The Greater Boston Food Bank, the Walnut Hill Garden Club, the Hanover Day committee, Jou Nouvo, World Computer Exchange, Two By Two Tutoring, and the Suffolk Law Alumni-Student 1L Mentor Program. Her humility often concealed her extensive contributions, leaving behind a trail of positive transformation in her wake.

Reflecting on her life, it becomes abundantly clear just how profoundly Tiziana impacted those in her orbit. She never faltered in her commitment to volunteer work, always responding to calls for assistance with an enthusiastic “yes” and an infectious smile. Tiz was more than a mere supporter; she was a catalyst for positive change in the lives of countless individuals, both locally and globally. Her influence reached far and wide, from assembling Thanksgiving dinners and equipping backpacks with school supplies to sponsoring children in Haiti and guiding and educating students. Her efforts to adorn the town with vibrant flowers were a testament to her love for Hanover and an embodiment of her tireless dedication.

Above all, Tiziana held her family and friends dear. Her warm and inviting demeanor ensured there was always time for a cup of coffee and a delightful pastry, infusing every gathering with boundless joy and excitement. Tiz’s enthusiasm was infectious, and her unique ability to make everyone feel included in her adventures was truly remarkable.

In lieu of flowers, Tiziana’s family has requested that donations be made to any of the cherished organizations she held close to her heart. These include the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, Inc., and the Walnut Hill Garden Club, both of which she passionately supported. Contributions to these causes will carry forward her legacy of community enrichment and beautification.

Visitation hours are scheduled for Sunday, September 24th, from 2 to 6 pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, September 25th, at Our Lady of the Angels Parish – St. Mary’s, followed by burial at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
