Tiziana Polizio Obituary Hanover MA, Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel at Brown Brothers Harriman has died

The world lost a remarkable soul on September 18, 2023, in the peace of Hanover, Massachusetts. Tiziana Polizio, also known as Tiz, Iggs, Anna Banana, and Tizzy P, died after a valiant fight against cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of unrelenting kindness, unflagging service to her community, and a significant influence on the lives of many people.

Tiziana was born in Hanover to Maria Antonietta (Guarracino) Polizio and Luigi Polizio, where her adventure began. She was Sandra Polizio’s and Gaetano Polizio’s adored sister, and she developed close ties with her family that would shape her entire life. She was a wonderful aunt, or “Zia,” to Luigi, Lucien, Serafina, Sarah, and many other members of her large family. Beyond her blood relatives, Tiz was a dear friend and auntie to numerous individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Tiziana Polizio was a formidable figure in her field. At the time of her death, she was Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), where she had worked for more than 12 years. Before joining BBH, Tiz spent nearly two decades working at State Street Bank & Trust Co., where her knowledge and commitment showed. She completed her academic studies at Boston College and Suffolk University Law School, launching a great career in the financial industry.

However, Tiz’s legacy goes far beyond her stellar career achievements. She was a passionate supporter of her neighbourhood, and it was clear that she adored Hanover, Massachusetts, and its residents. Tiz’s philanthropic spirit was exemplified by her involvement in numerous organizations, including the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, The Home for Little Wanderers, The Greater Boston Food Bank, the Walnut Hill Garden Club, the Hanover Day committee, Jou Nouvo, World Computer Exchange, Two By Two Tutoring, and the Suffolk Law Alumni-Student 1L Mentor Program. Her humility often obscured her extensive contributions, leaving a trail of positive change in her wake.

It becomes plainly evident how profoundly Tiziana affected those around her as we think back on her life. She never wavered in her commitment to volunteer work and always responded to requests for help with a hearty “yes” and a contagious smile. Tiz was more than just a supporter; she was a catalyst for a great number of constructive changes in people’s lives, both locally and internationally. Her influence was felt far and wide, from putting together Thanksgiving dinners and school supplies into backpacks to sponsoring children in Haiti and mentoring and teaching pupils. Her efforts to decorate the town with flowers were a demonstration of her love for Hanover and a sign of her unflagging commitment.

Above all else, Tiziana cherished her family and friends. Her warm and inviting nature ensured that there was always time for a cup of coffee and a delightful pastry, and she brought an abundance of joy and excitement to every celebration. Tiz’s enthusiasm was infectious, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel included in her adventures.

In lieu of flowers, Tiziana’s family has requested that donations be made to any of the organizations she held dear. These include the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, Inc., and the Walnut Hill Garden Club, both of which she passionately supported. Contributions to these causes will continue her legacy of community enrichment and beautification.

Visitation hours are scheduled for Sunday, September 24th, from 2 to 6 pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, September 25th, at Our Lady of the Angels Parish – St. Mary’s, followed by a burial at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
